This is a stunning Gray Marbled Slag Glass hen on nest covered candy dish or nut bowl.
The hen and nest are a creamy gray with pale contrasts in creamy brown and tan colors. It is an amazing color!
The hen has her head turned slightly and a split tail. The detail work in the glass is fantastic with tiny pin feathers and silky neck feathers to tiny eggs tucked under the hen's breast. The nest is ribbed. Has a wide flat edge with woven design.
Originally made as a candy dish. Makes an excellent jewelry and ring holder.
Stands appx 5" tall and is 6-1/2" long by 5-1/2" wide.
New and in mint condition.
An excellent example of hand made pressed glass.
Made by Mosser Glass of Cambridge Ohio.
