Description
1934 century of progress clam shell trays. seller said these were made by grandparents for the 1934 worlds fair. They may have been prototypes or overruns. They said the grandparents lived near Mississippi river and used random shells. all have a gold painted rim and back side . bases appear to be a type of plaster of Paris and are painted a shade of red, green or black.bottoms have glued on felt.. many of the shells were loose from glue being almost a century old so I did re fasten using caulk.. I count 48 complete trays and 14 stamped and 3 non stamped shells.. some shells have chips broken out and the stampings are of various clarity. please look at photos and ask if you have questions.
